Hello and good day!

The good news is that we are living in great times to produce our own videos. When I first started we needed to spend at least 20k-100k to edit professional-quality video. Now we can produce quality videos with apps that we may already own.

The best software tool I would recommend to start editing is Apple’s iMovie. It is a very powerful tool that is actually easy to use and learn. The video linked below was edited with iMovie on an iPad. iMovie is already included in most of our devices.

Once we learn iMovie and want more advanced features we can move up to Final Cut Pro which is Apple’s Professional editing tool. There are a lot of similarities between these two apps so the transition should be easy.

The good thing about Final Cut Pro is that it is a one time charge, so there is no Monthly fee as with other tools and we get to save a lot of money in the long run.

However, depending on the complexity of your videos, you may not even need to use Final Cut Pro and just stay with iMovie.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know. Thank you for your valuable time and have an amazing day! :)

These answers are in need of a refresh. Depending on how complex you need to go with your video editing, the best options (as of 2019) are:

- Kapwing: phenomenal suite of tools for editing. Online, and very fairly priced. Benefits: fast, easy to learn, affordable.

- Premiere: only if you are committed to a learning curve of about 30-40hrs in program to get from beginner to intermediate. Benefits: powerful, functional, a pro editor.

My team and I wrote on some techniques you can use in your video editing here if you'd like to review some extended reading:

The best answer would be Adobe Premier Pro -

The entire suite costs about $70 per month, which will include photoshop, illustrator, audition and a few others. But all of these will come in handy as you become more proficient. The thing is every software program is different. So, for example if you start on a different one now, and use it for a year or 2, then feel like you are ready to move to something more advanced, you will be basically starting from complete scratch. Even simple things that you thought you knew well, will be completely different. Now the thing with adobe premier is that it can be very complicated - there are so many things that software can do. However, at the same time you don't have to use any of those options, so you can start and keep it simple for yourself. The other benefit of adobe premier, is that it is one of the most popular and widely used programs for editing. So there is plenty of information how to use it. Even to this day after working on it for a few years, anytime i need to figure out how to do something, i just type it into youtube, and watch a 2 minute video on how to do it. As time goes on you start remembering all these skills that you use constantly and without even trying - with just time, you become proficient in the best program there is. Most of the other software doesn't even compare in terms of abilities, but also when you get stuck, you are going to have a hard time finding a video that will solve it for you.

Best of luck - Creating Youtube videos can be a lot of fun, and really profitable if done right.
