Behavioral and conversion tracking in affiliate marketing - How to?

Hello everyone, I am actually quite new to the detailed tracking topic but found out its value fast. However after reaching myself the tech side of conversion tracking I asked myself. I now use BeMob (similar to Voluum) to track conversions. You have you traffic source, your affiliate network and maybe a landing page in between. All nice and well. But this only shows CTR and CR. However if I want to know user behavior (bounce rate, micro cr such as surveys or newsletter sign up) I normally would use Google Analytics. However I would not know how to track conversions in affiliate network with Google analytics. And I do not know how to combine conversion and behavior data sets or even analyse them combined in meaningful way. Any help here? Thanks in advance.

You can't do that with bemob , you will have to use analytics or other 3rd party tools ..

Hi there,

The only way you would be able to see micro conversions and behavior beyond conversion tracking (and the other interactions) is if the merchant (for which the offer you are promoting) offers 3rd party S2S (or postback) tracking of *that data* (email signups, bounce rate, trial signups, upgrades, etc.) to the affiliate network and your internal tracking of choice (Voluum, BeMob, GA) supports it as well.

The unfortunate reality here is the willingness of most merchants to share data and steps to partners (and the tools they use) that would help you optimize upstream promotions to give them better qualified customers.

If you'd like to chat about this or construct some possible work arounds - feel free to schedule a call.

Thanks and good luck!

Hi,
Not sure if you solve your issue since you post this here!

Assuming you are talking about traffic behavioral on a website you can definitely use Google Analytics for that and what you could also do is combine it with Google Tag Manager to add the conversion pixel of your affiliate network.

If you are talking about Mobile App traffic then you can use Firebase for that.

Hope that help!
Best,
Charles
